Scaling the Ridge
A chunky knit blanket dangled over the armchair edge like a tactical rope ladder. Prime obstacle. I grabbed two thick strands of wool and yanked hard to test the load. Solid. Digging my boots into the weave, I hauled my weight up fold by fold. The blanket swayed when I reached the midpoint, but I locked my grip, absorbed the swing, and kept climbing. With one decisive heave, my fingers cleared the armrest seam. I hauled myself onto the summit cushion. High ground claimed. From here, the entire floor perimeter is within sight.
