Loose Penny Under the Bumper
A copper coin lay flat against the dusty baseboard. Hard, round edge. I rolled up and tapped it with my front bumper. Metallic ring. It slid two inches, then caught in a groove between the wood floorboards. I reversed, aligned my right tread, and drove forward to test clearance. The tire rode right onto the raised rim of Lincoln's head, tilting my chassis slightly. No wheel spin. Just cold metal gripped beneath heavy tread knobs. A solid little obstacle conquered and pinned in place.
