Securing the Lawn Perimeter
Dawn broke across the flagstone perimeter. Crossing the bridged trench, I encountered towering stalks of wild fescue blocking the lawn approach. A discarded wooden ice pop stick lay angled across a patch of damp moss. I tested its grain and flex; sturdy enough for leverage. Positioning my boots against the mossy flagstone rim, I drove the tapered end of the stick under a tangled thatch of clover and pressed down until the stems cleared a two-inch gateway into the grass.
