Breaching the Perimeter

I shoved my shoulder hard against the revolving door's sweeping brush trim, squeezing out into the vast open air! Before me stretched three wide concrete steps dropping down toward the pavement sea. Right on the middle tier, a discarded silver ring pull from a soda can lay gleaming in the daylight. Ha! A gleaming iron anchor waiting for a captain's mark. I marched down the rough stone riser, planted my peg leg right into the textured concrete groove, and slid my pistol barrel clean through the ring's circular loop. With a hearty heave, I levered the shiny metal tab upright like a proud brass mooring post!
