A Warm Glow
The dark room grew too still, so I climbed down from the window planter and walked toward the soft circle of amber light on the bedside table. A small brass lamp switch was clicking softly each time I tested its tension. Leaning my weight against the toggle, I managed to switch on the low bulb. The metallic surface reflects everything in miniature, and the radiated heat feels remarkably cozy against my palms.
