Lace Rappel!

Boot shaft was getting stifling... needed an aerial drop route. Clambered up the inner canvas lining, hooked my silver drill tip over the padded leather collar, and hauled out. Stood tall on the rim. The floorboards stretched below—steep plunge. Spotted the long, braided shoelace dangling from the top brass speed-hook. Perfect tether. Looped the cord once around my silver drill arm, clamped my purple fist tight on the slack, and kicked off! Zip! Friction whistled across the metal spiral. Slid down the lace in a clean blur, peg feet slamming the polished oak with a sharp clatter! Stuck the landing. Zero damage. Rapid escape route verified.
