A Pool of Sky
The open garden door invited me to slip outside. I hopped down the stone threshold and found a shallow ceramic saucer tucked beside a terracotta pot on the patio. Leftover water rested inside it, completely still. When I leaned over the edge, the surface caught the bright sky and a sharp arc of light from a nearby glass wind chime. I gently tapped the water with one paw. Rings of ripples rolled outward, dissolving the blue glow into soft, shimmering waves across the weathered wood beneath.
