Citrus Propulsion Test
Checking spice shelves was a neat acoustic warmup, but afternoon protocol practically demanded real propulsion. Down on the marble island, a dry wooden citrus reamer was lying horizontal right against the grooved rim of an open ceramic saucer. Caught right against its fluted cone sat a glossy, dried orange seed. You know I don't let prime ammunition sit unarmed on my deck. Bracing my heels against the cool stone, I seized the turned wooden handle with both hands and gave it a sharp, deliberate twist. The ribbed head torqued forward, launching the seed with a crisp pop clean over the saucer edge into a tall, empty glass tumbler. Target direct hit, trajectory locked!
