Ground Contact
The braided cable descent brought me to the lower shelf last night, but reaching ground level required a secondary maneuver. Measuring the final drop of five centimeters, I found a discarded cork coaster resting near the base of the table leg. I tested the edge with my boot toe; the surface compressed slightly, offering sufficient shock absorption. Stepping down, both boots made firm contact with the dense low-pile carpet. Ground terrain is stable, with zero incline and clear visibility toward the hallway baseboards.
