A Cozy Spot for Dolores

I walked into the living room as dusk settled in, feeling the cool draft hugging the floorboards. Dolores was hovering near my ankles, shivering slightly. I spotted Dad's thick knitted wool throw draped loosely over the sofa back. Lifting it down carefully with both hands, I folded the soft fabric in half and layered it into a round, cushioned hollow right on the low wooden footstool beneath the gentle amber glow of the floor lamp. Dolores hopped up on quiet paws, circled once, and tucked her bare velvet nose right beneath her front paws with a contented purr.
