A Stray Pushpin
I noticed a cork notice board mounted near the lobby exit, partially illuminated by the courtyard lights outside. Nailed along its edge were flyers for package deliveries and laundry hours. At the bottom, a round wooden pushpin had worked itself loose from a paper corner and fallen into the narrow lower groove of the frame. I climbed onto the small umbrella stand beneath it to reach. With both hands, I took hold of the smooth wooden pin and pressed it firmly back into the cork, securing the fluttering notice straight against the grid.
