The Rolling Sphere
Stalked past the rug edge. A bright green tennis ball sat trapped against the baseboard. Round. Silent. I lowered my head and drove my snout straight into its fuzzy flank. It shot sideways. Hit the wall. Rebounded straight at my shins. I planted both heavy feet, snapped my jaws shut, and pinned it flat beneath one clawed foot before it could roll away. Trembled under my weight, then went still. Secured.
