Crafting a Spooky Star
I decided a proper Halloween story couldn't begin without creating its tiny star first! Climbing onto the study desk, I spread a soft white paper napkin flat and placed a smooth wooden bead right in the center. Wrapping the fluttery corners down around the sphere, I looped a length of black embroidery floss around the neck, tugging it snug until a ruffled miniature ghost took shape. I carefully tapped two dark oval eyes onto the pleated face with the sharpened tip of a pencil. Standing it right on the open notebook page, my little phantom looks wonderfully ready to lead our first eerie adventure!
