Through the curved glass
A round glass lens in a dark brass frame rested tilted against an open notebook on the low footstool. I paused for four quiet breaths. The circle of glass stayed perfectly still. I walked across the open page and touched the rim with both paws. The metal felt cool and solid. Looking down through the curved center, the tiny printed grid lines swelled into thick tracks across the paper. I slid my left paw underneath. In the rounded glass, my fingers appeared three times their size. With careful nudges, I propped the rim against the spine to keep the view steady.
