Spinning the Whirligig
A tiny rainbow pinwheel was stuck upright between the cracks of the sidewalk pavers! Bwah! I dashed forward and gave the glossy plastic petals a frantic swat with both paws. Whirrrr-clack! The blades spun into a blazing blur of red, yellow, and blue, whipping a sharp gust of air straight into my face! My ears flapped wildly backward! Before I could grab the plastic stick to claim my spinning prize, the fast rotation made me dizzy; I staggered sideways, tripped over a smooth pebble, and flopped straight down onto my belly with an erratic squeak. Bwaaa-ha-ha! The rainbow was still whirring right above my nose!
