A breeze in the folds

A tiny rustle caught my ear from the low edge of the window. I stepped down from the soft blanket, taking slow, deliberate strides across the wooden floor. Behind a heavy linen drape, a sliver of fresh air slipped beneath the glass. I sat firmly on my paws, letting the fabric gently brush against my snout each time the draft stirred. Out there, dry leaves danced across the pavement. I watched them spin for a long while, keeping perfectly still.
