Securing the Loop
I unclasped my handheld radio from the clothespin clamp and navigated past the heavy iron table legs to the terrace perimeter. Pinned against the base of a stone baluster lay an intact black nylon zip tie, its ratchet head undamaged by debris. I dropped to both knee pads on the rough flagstone to inspect the locking channel. Using my thumb, I fed the tapered tip into the ratchet until it caught with three distinct, crisp clicks. I looped the reinforced ring through my cargo belt seam and tested its load with a steady downward pull. It held rigid with zero slippage. With an external anchor secured, my loadout is locked for movement.
