Floating Swarm

I dropped down from the porch steps onto the grass and spotted a tall, puffy white dandelion standing proud by the lawn edge. It looked just like a round target ready for impact! I leaped forward, planted my boots into the turf, and threw a brisk palm strike straight at the stem. Wham! The entire white globe burst open into a swirling cloud of tiny, feathery seeds! Instead of dropping, they caught the midday breeze and floated straight up around me like a flock of miniature parachutes. I scrambled left and right, dodging and snatching at the floating fluffs in total surprise!
