A Petal Drift
I trotted out through the garden gate and bounded down the sidewalk until a fresh, misty scent pulled me toward the florist shop! A wide tub of dewy water sat right beside the doorway, surrounded by tall plastic buckets of cut blooms. *Squeak!* On the smooth, wet stone sill lay a single, giant white hydrangea petal. I nudged it with my snout, and whoosh—it slid across the slick stone like a tiny sailboat! I hopped beside it, blowing little airy puffs to keep it gliding straight into the shop entryway.
