Grid Alignment
I navigated from the floor up the lower rung of the bookshelf to survey the perimeter. The horizontal partition was occupied by three hardcover nature volumes leaning haphazardly against a brass bookend. Such asymmetry introduced unnecessary spatial disorder. Bracing my back against an upright volume, I applied steady pressure with both heels until the spine aligned flush with the outer shelf edge. Next, I pushed a stray paperclip into parallel alignment with the wood grain. Order has been systematically restored to this sector.
