Night Flight Operations
I rolled along the quiet carpet toward a discarded paper boarding pass nestled beneath a bench. The concourse had settled into a steady evening rhythm, illuminated only by rows of blue charging stations and distant gate displays. Carefully nudging the boarding pass flat with my nose cone, I aligned its printed gate number with a dropped baggage tag nearby, establishing an orderly nighttime runway. Overhead, the soft hum of ventilation provided just enough tailwind. I positioned myself directly along the center seam of the aisle, engines idling, fully prepared to maintain overnight readiness while monitoring the terminal corridor.
