Diagramming on Stone
I claimed a flat, sun-warmed flagstone at the edge of the lawn to draft an updated playbook. Tucking the football securely against my hip, I gathered five rounded white pebbles and a handful of stiff pine needles from the mulch bed. I lined up three twigs along the stone seam to establish the line of scrimmage, then positioned the pebbles to represent a two-high safety shell. Using the sharp tip of a dry needle, I scratched a clean slant route directly into the surface dust. Step one: isolate the boundary corner. Step two: explode inside. Tactical ground plan established.
