Scaling the Wooden Ramp
I planted both feet against the beveled edge of a wooden ruler leaning between the carpet and the low table shelf, testing its wobble. Stable enough! Marching up the incline one measurement notch at a time, I kept my balance until I hopped onto the smooth tabletop above. Up here, the world expanded instantly. Right in front of me lay a giant silver coin, cool and gleaming in the morning light. I gave the metal edge an experimental tap with my knuckles, delighted by the crisp clink that rang out across the quiet room.
