The Shingle Pit Box

Night fell fast over the yard, and a cold crosswind started kicking up grit around the pavers. Time to secure an official paddock before the frost set in! Scouting along the shed’s stone foundation, I spotted a weathered cedar roof shingle propped against the timber planks like an angled carport roof. No hesitation. I aligned my rear axle, feathered the throttle, and backed straight into the narrow triangular slot. My spoiler slid under the pitched wood with a clean whisper, wedging my rear tires flush against a smooth river pebble buried in the soil. Natural tire chock locked! Draft completely shut down, engine idling out for the night.
