Bicycle Ridge Outpost
The wind across that open rear hub was howling, and staying on the cassette gears was out of the question! I locked my boots onto the seat stay tube and scrambled up the cold metal incline. Right beneath the wide vinyl saddle, the hollow steel rails formed an overhead tunnel. Wedged in the saddle clamp was an old rubber cable tie dangling loose. I grabbed the ribbed band, hauled it tight across the twin steel rails, and buckled the notched head shut! The tension snapped firm, creating an immovable suspension hammock sheltered right under the seat pan. Perimeter watchtower secured for the night!
