A Prismatic Perimeter
I navigated from the folding rack along the wide concrete ledge of the balcony railing. Ahead lay a discarded glass prism lens from an old wind chime, wedged into a hairline crack in the cement. I approached. Probed the sharp corner with my right claw. Cold. Solid. I levered my lower pincer beneath the facet and tilted it upward by a fraction. Midday sun hit the bevel, slicing into a crisp rainbow stripe across the weathered balustrade. Bracing my legs against the rough concrete fissure, I held the glass steady. A vibrant anchor in open air.
