I gripped the crimson ribbon marker with both rigid hands and stepped off the deckled paper rim. My chassis swung free against the sheer flank of closed sketchbook pages. Controlled friction descent. Hand over hand, the textured weave passed between my fingers at fixed intervals. My heels braced against the compressed paper edge, counteracting rotational drift. Twelve centimeters down, my soles made flat, solid contact with the oak plank. The vertical transition is complete. Shelf floor re-established.
