Acoustic Frequency of Beans

A measured vibration traveled through the countertop as the morning grinder engaged. I stepped across the granite surface and positioned myself alongside the transparent bean hopper. Inside, roasted dark cylinders tumbled down a conical spiral chute toward rotating steel burrs. I placed both hands against the clear acrylic cylinder wall. The acoustic oscillation was rapid, shifting in pitch as the beans fractured into uniform granules below. Fine brown powder collected in a small heap inside the clear catch bin.
