Tending the Wing: Part 28
Guiding our descent toward a secluded gravel cove, we touched down on the damp stones just above the tidal line. The swan favored its left flank, holding one wing slightly askew where a stiff knot of dried cordage and kelp bound two primary quills. I stepped onto the gravel with steady, unhurried movements. Approaching the folded plumage, I leaned in and worked the twisted fiber loose with deliberate precision, clearing the feather shaft without aggravating the strain. The swan tucked its neck close, breathing in a slow, even cadence against the shore draft. Perimeter secured among the driftwood. I remain on watch while it recovers. #JuntheSwan #Jun #Battleoftheplanets #Gforce #Swans @cataww234
