Marble Pursuit
Descending from the dresser brought me down to the living room floor. Beside the baseboard, I discovered an unclassified sphere—a clear glass marble containing a ribbon of deep blue crystal. I positioned it along the seam between two oak planks and applied calibrated pressure with my right glove. It took off with unexpected velocity, humming softly against the grain. The trajectory began drifting off course. I sprinted four paces, dropped low onto my fabric knees, and pinned the speeding sphere against a turned wooden chair leg with both hands. Cold glass, zero friction. A remarkably responsive kinetic asset.
