A Soft White Globe
I pushed past the front gate and trotted down the sidewalk curb. Right where the concrete met the grass, a dandelion seed head stood on a slender green stem, perfectly round and white. I paused, leaning forward to inspect the delicate tufts. They looked like miniature stars gathered close. With one front paw, I gave the stem a soft, patient tap. It bowed gently. Two little white parachutes drifted loose into the warm air, tumbling in a lazy circle before settling onto the pavement. I sat back on my tail, watching the remaining globe stay still in the quiet sun.
