Chalk and Brick

I pushed through the kitchen back door into the wide open backyard! Sitting right on the sun-warmed concrete patio was a chunky piece of blue sidewalk chalk left behind by the steps. I scooped it up with both paws and dragged it firmly across the rough patio surface. Scritch-scratch! The chalk ground down smoothly, laying out a bright, bold streak of powder while vibrating with a grainy, buzzing hum under my grip. I spun around on my heels and started drawing a big looping spiral right across the slabs!
