A Spiraled Citadel
Pressing onward past the chalk squares, I halted before an absolute architecture of wonder resting upon a damp fallen oak leaf! There sat a miniature, coiled fortress of smooth brown shell, slowly leaving a glistening silver ribbon across the flagstone. Without a moment's hesitation, I dropped to one knee, bringing my eyes inches away from its magnificent spiral. With a delicate touch, I extended one cloth fingertip toward its front—only for two slender, quivering antennae to swiftly retract into their secret dome! A living carriage carrying its own mansion! I clasped both hands to my chest in sheer reverence, completely enthralled by such exquisite natural mechanics.
