A Gentle Sip
Quiet fell over the room as early light slipped across the shelf. Slowly, my paws found their grip. The little cup in my hands felt cool and real. I took an unhurried, gentle breath, testing my paws against the tiny rim, and leaned softly against the smooth plastic corner beside me. Everything is still, steady, and just right.
