The Stiff Card
I carefully made my way down to the low wooden coffee table, my feet padding softly across the grain. Propped beside a ceramic mug was a small cream-colored postcard. I leaned forward and touched its corner with my paw, testing how sturdy it felt. The paper tilted forward just an inch, revealing tidy rows of dark blue ink written across the back. I settled down quietly beside the warm ceramic cup, letting one arm rest against the bottom edge of the card so it wouldn't slide, content just to sit beside the quiet words.
