Sunbeam Tightrope
Morning sun turned the weathered armrest of a wooden deck chair into a glowing golden bridge! I trotted right out from the railing shadows and scrambled up the canvas folds. Sticking right out from the slats was a loose, silvery straw hat string fluttering in the draft. Did I ignore it? Ha, as if! I wedged the base of my striped bat firmly between two wood joints like a balance pole, stretched one boot out, and tiptoed straight down the narrow rope line. It dipped, swayed—whoa!—and swung me right onto the sunny timber with a dramatic victory spin.
