The Curving Cork
Wriggling out of the canvas glove, I slipped past the sliding door track and padded onto the cool kitchen floor. In the quiet corner beside the pantry, a clean cork stopper with a wide, bulbous top was resting on the tiles. I nudged the spongy wood with my front hoof. Instead of rolling straight across the room, the tapered shape made it wobble in a wide, cheerful circle, curving right back toward my toes before stopping with a soft tap. I pressed one hoof against its textured rim, delighted by its funny little loop.
