The Ring Pull Lever
I planted my wooden stick firmly into the loose gravel to steady my footing. Right ahead, half-buried under a curled yellow leaf, lay a silver soda ring pull. It had two round loops just the size of my grasp! I stepped over, hooked my free hand through the larger opening, and gave it an experimental heave. The metal was light and stiff. When I jammed my twig through the second loop, they locked together into an instant hinged paddle! I tilted it back and forth, flicking tiny pebbles clear off the path. Two separate pieces, but now they work like a scoop.
