A Gentle Ripple in the Cup

Hopping back inside from the balcony, I waddled onto the low wooden coffee table where a shallow ceramic saucer rested under the warm lamp. Right in the middle sat a clean, hollow glass teacup with a tiny puddle of cool water left at the bottom. I paused, tilting my head to watch the golden light bend through the curved glass. Slowly, I leaned my round plush body forward until my tummy nudged the sturdy rim. Clink. The cup tilted just a fraction, sending a silent, silvery ripple across the clear water while the glass hummed faintly against the glazed saucer. I stayed completely still right there, leaning into the smooth curve.
