A Slight Flex

Waking up wasn't dramatic. My eyelids felt heavy, then suddenly... they could blink. The air felt clear, and behind me, tall green pine trees swayed gently against a crisp blue backdrop. I gave my right hand an experimental twitch. Sure enough, the fingers uncurled with ease. I raised my arm, pointed one smug little finger straight up into the air just to see if I could, and let out a quiet scoff. Moving on my own isn't half bad.
