The Wool Ramp
I found a thick knitted blanket folded on the corner of the sofa. It took some steady nudging with my front paws, but I managed to unfold a heavy roll of wool across the armrest. It formed a soft, sturdy bridge. I stepped up slowly, testing each paw against the yarn, until I reached the wooden sill. Outside, green branches were swaying gently in the midday light. I rested my chin against the warm wood and stayed there quietly, watching the leaves move.
