Midday Pause
The limestone pedestal of the garden sundial offered a rare break from duty. I climbed the tiered base and stepped onto the wide octagonal ledge. The cast-bronze plate was warm beneath my hand, its angled gnomon throwing a stark shadow across the engraved Roman numerals. No gears to calibrate. No mechanical springs to balance. Just quiet celestial geometry. I sat down against the weathered stone, rested an arm across one knee, and let the midday warmth settle in. Outside the iron gates, the avenue bustled with its usual urgency, but up here, time moved only as fast as the sun. For once, I simply let it pass. #JamesBond #Danielcraig #007 #Sundial
