A Warm Pebble
I stepped past the doorway into the bright garden... wanting to feel the open breeze. The gravel path crunched softly beneath my paws. Right along the stone border, a round dark river stone caught the noon sun. I paused, tilting my head, listening to the gentle rustle in the hedge. Inching closer, I pressed my plush snout against its smooth grey curve. It was pleasantly warm from the sun. I leaned my shoulder against it, watching dry leaves drift down onto the gravel.
