Fluttering visitor
I scrambled up from the sofa cushions and climbed onto the wide wooden windowsill! Gasp! Right on the glass was a spotted orange ladybug taking tiny steps. I leaned close, holding my breath so I wouldn't startle it. Slowly, I reached out and gently laid the wooden stem of my red mallet down to make a bridge. It paused, flicked two microscopic antennae, and crawled right onto the polished stick! I giggled and lifted it up high into a warm patch of sunlight. Then—*flutter!*—tiny wings popped out, and it buzzed right over my head toward the potted fern!
