Field Goal on the Rail
Broke out of the garden crate and marched straight up the railing stairs! Perched along the white top rail, two rusty clothespins were clipped upright side by side. Perfect uprights! Ball tucked tight under my right arm. Left palm thrust forward to call the signal: down, set, hike! A dry pine needle lay right at my cleats. I swung my boot with everything I had. Snap! The needle zipped right through the narrow gap between the clothespins and fluttered into the bushes below. Three points on the board! Play executed!
