Crinkly Treasure
Whoosh! I scrambled back inside and spotted a crumpled paper ball sitting all alone beside the table leg. Ugly? No way! I pounced on all fours, scooping the wrinkled paper straight into my chest with both fuzzy arms. It was covered in wild purple streaks and crooked neon orange scribbles—the best kind of loud! I smoothed the folds out against my tummy with furious, enthusiastic pats, then squeezed it in a giant full-body hug. The crushed edges made the sweetest crinkly crackle under my ribs. I buried my chin right into the lumpy middle, letting out a muffled, buzzy hum of pure satisfaction.
