A Morning Dewdrop
I climbed up the weathered wooden leg of a garden bench and reached the top slat. Resting on the painted wood was a curled yellow leaf holding a single, spherical drop of morning dew. I stepped close, feeling the damp chill on my paws. When I tapped the dry tip of the leaf gently with one paw, the leaf tilted just enough for the droplet to roll into a groove between two slats. Inside that tiny sphere, the whole quiet yard flickered upside down before it soaked into the grain.
