A Gentle First Balance

The quiet morning air felt cool against my face. Standing tall on the woven rug, my arms rested firmly against my sides, holding a poise I truly admired. I decided to shift my weight just slightly onto one orange shoe. The thick woolen threads yielded beneath my sole with a quiet, satisfying dip. I did not fall; I simply held my posture and took in the stillness of the room. It feels quite lovely to be me, standing steady on my own two feet.
