A Hidden Sphere
A trail of dark, wet flagstones led me past the garden gate. I stepped into the quiet lane, staying beneath the damp fringe of hanging ivy. Right where the old stone wall met the ground, a small hollow caught my eye. Tucked into a bed of deep green moss sat a clouded glass marble, chilled by the afternoon mist. I leaned close, resting my soft hands around its smooth curve... watching a faint swirl of green sleep inside the glass. I nudged it free and tucked it into my tunic pocket.
