I bounced right off the thick carpet edge onto the hard wooden floor! Boing! Tap-tap-tap! Every landing on the wood made a sharp, clacking echo that matched the ticking of the wall clock. I tried double hops, then three quick bounces—click-clack-clack! The whole empty room started ringing with my brand new beat!
